Lymphoma Canada funds only Canadian researchers, and our resources are derived from Canadian statistics, featuring only Canadian-specific information.

The Role of Coordinator – Patient Programs, Research and Advocacy

Lymphoma Canada is currently seeking a dynamic individual who will assist in the management of the organization’s scientific programs and deliverables. Reporting to the Manager of Patient Programs, Research and Advocacy, the Coordinator role will include but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Function as the scientific communications officer for the Canadian francophone population within the organization and serve as a resource for advocacy and other related public relations efforts;
  • Aid in the development and dissemination of key scientific messages and all lymphoma/CLL related publication materials;
  • Promote funding opportunities to the research community;
  • Assist and collaborate in writing of scientific content for mailings and fundraising campaigns;
  • Promotion and dissemination of fundraising initiatives to the francophone community;
  • Assist in being resource for patients and caregivers as it relates to questions about disease and treatment;
  • Maintain up-to-date competency in lymphoma and CLL related medical trends, and communicate all related advancements to the organization;
  • Assist in the strategy and development of the scientific content of the website.
  • Assist in the dissemination of feedback surveys and prepare submissions to CADTH and INESSS related to lymphoma and CLL drug reviews;
  • Assist in the development and dissemination of Media / Press Relations / Public Statements with regards to research and the fight against cancer;
  • Updating scientific databases to increase communication and collaboration with key stakeholders, knowledge opinion leaders, pharmaceutical partners, and institutions serving lymphoma and CLL patients;
  • Assist in scientific research for updating existing Lymphoma Canada resources and website information, and for new scientific resources for the lymphoma and CLL patient and caregiver population, as well as health care professionals;
  • Initiate and develop relevant and valuable educational opportunities by sourcing Canadian specialists to present at webinars, forums and conferences for the patient and caregiver community.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must have a minimum Bachelor of Science degree or related field;
  • Knowledge of cancer (an asset!);
  • scientific communications background;
  • Knowledge of the Canadian health care environment;
  • Strong ability to leverage scientific knowledge to develop resources for lay and scientific audiences, and manage relationships with internal and external partners;
  • Skilled in use of basic office computer software, and familiarity with scientific research websites including PubMed, CADTH/INESSS and related resources;
  • Willingness to work flex time and evenings to support fundraising events, educational sessions etc., as required (minimal)
  • Ability to work in a hybrid setting
  • Bilingualism is preferred for this role.

Salary: $53,000 per year.
