Be sure to mark September 15th on your calendars. That day is World Lymphoma Awareness Day.

The medical community, lymphoma organizations, patients, and their families raise public awareness of both Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma during this yearly campaign.

Since 2004, people around the world have done so. World Lymphoma Awareness Day was conceived and inaugurated by the Lymphoma Coalition. Lymphoma Canada proudly joins other groups around the world to celebrate every September 15th.

As part of this event, those close to the disease share personal stories and information about symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment.

One million people live with lymphoma worldwide, and everyday 1,000 people are diagnosed with the disease. In Canada, lymphoma is the 5th most common cancer.

And yet, almost three-quarters of the population don’t even know what lymphoma is.

That is why World Lymphoma Awareness Day is such an important and necessary campaign.

With more knowledge about what lymphoma is and its signs and symptoms, people around the world would be able to detect lymphoma earlier. Any form of outreach is needed—no matter how small.

Please join us on September 15th as we spread information, help, and hope.
