Copper Branch and Lymphoma Canada launch 2018 partnership on February 4th
Carlos Ruiz endeavors to defeat the stereotypes that come with having cancer.
At 23, in year 2014, Ruiz received a diagnosis of stage III T-cell and follicular Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, one of the rare varieties of the disease, and even rarer for his age.
Nevertheless, he searched for ways to keep life as normal and purposeful as possible, not desiring to stay still and be hindered by the after-effects of treatments. Despite the state of his health – in fact, because of it – Copper Branch gave him the opportunity to work alongside them, even through his chemotherapy, radiation, and experimental treatments.
Since then, Ruiz dwells in the fulfillment of being a part of something bigger than himself. He has become an invaluable member of the Copper Branch family, and has achieved significant healing – physically, mentally, and spiritually – through not only their promoted healthy lifestyle, but also the profound relationships he has made with his team along the way.
Now, Ruiz is thrilled with Copper Branch’s partnership with Lymphoma Canada, and hopes to continue living large, raising awareness of the disease, and encouraging and inspiring others like him to make a purpose for themselves: because of, and despite their own sickness.
Lymphoma Canada’s mission is to empower patients and the lymphoma community through education, support, and research. Thanks to the commitment of partners like Copper Branch, there is help and hope for over 100,000 Canadians affected by a lymphoma cancer diagnosis.
Join Copper Branch and Lymphoma Canada to honour Carlos and all lymphoma patients, and survivors this World Cancer Day, February 4th, 2018.
