After treatment is over, you may experience a mix of emotions, many of which are positive. You may feel excited about the future. You may have discovered new personal strengths or reinforced your relationships with family and friends during your lymphoma experience. Often there is a desire to strive toward new goals and get the most out of life, including recapturing the sense of normalcy before you were diagnosed. Allow yourself to feel happy and proud of what you have accomplished.

However, you may also have some uncomfortable feelings that aren’t positive and you may still have unanswered questions. It is important to acknowledge and talk about how you feel. The lymphoma experience can feel very lonely but you don’t have to do this alone. Refer to the Emotional section of the LBL Guide to help you identify your feelings and emotions at this stage of your lymphoma experience.

You may have worries and fears about the unknowns of the future. You may also notice that anxiety interferes with daily activities as you think about the effects of lymphoma on your family, friends, and career. In addition, you may feel angry about having had lymphoma. All of these feelings are normal.
